and tropical horticultural plants like sweet potato, peanuts, soya bean and tapioca. Should you like, enjoy a little walk through the rice field and learn how Balinese cultivate their fertile farming land. Enjoy a Balinese lunch, while listening to traditional music and watching Balinese dance.

Tegalalang Rice Terraces
It is highly recommended to visit the beautiful multi-tiered terraced rice fields near Ubud. There are beautiful cafes facing the famous rice terraces. It is a great to break up the day, rest and have lunch or coffee or refreshment there. The scenery is lush and beautiful.

Tanah Lot
Tanah Lot is a spectacular temple built in the 17th century,on the top of a lava rock about 200 meters offshore. Be sure to check for the high and low tide schedule before visiting, if you want to get closer the temple. Since Tanah Lot resides on the West side of the island, it is famous for it's beautiful sunsets.

NungNung Waterfalls
Nungnung Waterfall, travel about 90 minutes towards Sangeh. The village of Nungnung is about 45 kilometres from Denpasar. Tickets for 5,000 IDR must be purchased to descend the stairs (the proceeds go to its upkeep). Although you will need to descend down 500 steps, it is well worth the trip, with the waterfall cascading down 50 meters. This is a beautiful waterfall that is not as touristy as Tegenungan Waterfalls. However, I would only recommend this if you are physically fit and have no mobility issues.

Tegenungan Waterfalls
Tegenungan Waterfalls are conveniently located halfway between Ubud and Bali’s provincial capital of Denpasar, and is considered the closest natural attraction of its kind that you can reach within only a half-hour from Ubud town. Getting to the falls is a pleasant drive down paved village roads lined with stretches of green rice fields on both sides.

Uluwatu Temple - Pura Luhur, Cliffs & Kacek Dance
Uluwatu Temple, or Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of six key temples believed to be Bali's spiritual pillars, is renowned for its magnificent location, perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 metres above sea level. This temple also shares the splendid sunset backdrops as that of Tanah Lot Temple, another important sea temple located in the island's western shores. Pura Luhur Uluwatu is definitely one of the top places on the island to go to for sunset delights, with direct views overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and daily Kecak dance performances. Balinese architecture, traditionally-designed gateways, and ancient sculptures add to Uluwatu Temple's appeal.
Public facilities are available, but not in the temple area. Unlike some other tourist destinations in Bali, Uluwatu Temple area has limited amounts of hassling vendors. Visitors must wear a sarong and a sash, as well as appropriate clothes common for temple visits. They can be rented here.
The best time to visit is just before sunset. A Kecak fire dance is performed everyday at the adjacent cliff-top stage at 18:00 to 19:00. Visitors are charged a nominal fee. What makes this venue amazing, is to watch the Kecak fire dance with the sunset in the background.
